Why are MORALS, VALUES, & PRINCIPLES taboo instead of an expectation and norm in our leaders in government?
Because they do represent us.
With recent elections completed, and more to come, I have noticed one commonality in every election. If you stand on your morals, values, and principles, you are the outsider. You are the the candidate who is seen as "crazy" or "out of touch with the people." Actually the latter may very well be true, because we the people are voting for the politicians who have no morals, values, nor principles. The liars are winning. The immoral are winning. We the people are rewarding this.
Look at Ron Paul. He may not be perfect for everyone, but just look at how he would not waiver from his values and principles. And then look at how he was attacked. Look at how little funding he received compared to the others. Look at how he was dismissed. We reward liars, and cast out those who stand on morals, values, & principles.
Our representatives are to represent us, and we are getting what we voted for. Whether we want to admit it or not, they in fact do represent the American people. We the people have fundamentally shifted to valuing STUFF. We vote for the people who guarantee us STUFF. We will not vote for the candidate who tells us that we should stop valuing STUFF. We want to live in ignorance, as long as we have our STUFF. Our decisions, actions, and votes are in an effort to secure more STUFF. What a shame! We are killing our great nation. We are killing our children's future of freedom, and we are killing the leadership that once made us the free-est country in the world.
I have written before, I am not against obtaining wealth through morals and values, but to value wealth and do anything to obtain it, including legal, but immoral acts is the virus that is running uncontrolled in our country.
I ask anyone who reads this to take a long look in the mirror. Ask yourself: What do I value in life? What are my morals? What are the principles that conduct my actions? Then ask yourself: What will I have to sacrifice to live by those standards? & Am I willing to make that sacrifice? Can I define success in living by those standards? Dig deep into the people who represent you; not just in Washington, DC, but at the state and local level as well. Make sure that they are representative of your beliefs. Do not settle for not voting because your preferred candidate will not win. Do not settle for voting for the person who is the better funded, lesser of two evils, because we still are voting for evil, if we do.
For everyone of you who are willing to make the sacrifices to ensure your morals, values, & principles guide you in your decisions, actions, you will be a new block in the restoration of our great American foundation. We will be seen as outside the fringe and bucking the system. If enough people make this decision, we will begin to restore our culture of leadership in the world. If enough people swim upstream, we can change the flow of the river. Our decision is both individual and collective. I pray for you, and us.
