Here is a challenge for all leaders out there:
Take the time to develop people around you, without worrying losing your job. Develop the people around you into stronger leaders. Do not worry about being seen as less of a leader, because there are more in the organization. Take the time to mentor those you are responsible for.
Pleasant Surprise: You will find that your status as a leader is more solid than it would have been by protecting your position, and not investing in developing those around you. Your organization will grow from your actions. Those willing to follow you will increase. Your influence will increase. Your leadership abilities will increase. Your productivity as a leader will increase.
Increasing leaders around you increases your ability to accomplish your objectives.
